Think of a specific situation at work (or elsewhere as applicable) where you feel the concepts of Organizational Behavior could have resulted in a more positive outcome for an organization/team. Perhaps this could be a time when a team was not properly motivated, thus failing to produce results.
Maybe you are experiencing a situation where morale is low, and employees are not satisfied with their jobs. Or it could be a time when the organizational change process was not handled properly. Maybe the implementation of a new technological system is causing grief among the employees because there was a failure to implement an effective communication strategy. Regardless of the example used, it MUST address either a team or organizational issue.
Now consider yourself as being hired as an Organizational Behavior consultant chartered with the task of recommending a new course of action. Using topics that we have discussed in class (as well as your own experiences), address the following for the situation you selected: Provide an overview of the situation and why you feel it “failed.” Describe the leader’s style (or lack thereof) and its impact on the situation. How could the leader have utilized techniques of Organizational Behavior to produce a more positive outcome? Be as specific as possible about what you would recommend. Your suggestions should be not just theoretical but actionable. 5 pages.
